In May, the BTRL celebrated the awarding of its sixth Ph. D. degree with the graduation of Lee Sierad. Dr. Sierad's dissertation is titled "A pulsatile bioreactor for conditioning tissue engineered heart valves" and can be read here. Lee is now a postdoctoral researcher with the BTRL. He is also starting up a company, Aptus, to produce bioreactors for cardiovascular research.
